Our mission at RJ Village is to enhance community capacity to resolve conflicts through restorative justice. We provide conflict resolution services, training, and education designed to empower individuals and communities to heal and grow together.
At RJ Village, we dream of a world where empathy, understanding, and collaboration become second nature. Through our programs, we not only help resolve conflicts but also empower individuals to foster peace in their homes, workplaces, and communities. We believe every conflict is an opportunity for growth, and every voice deserves to be heard. Join us as we work towards a more compassionate and connected world.
Welcome to RJ Village, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering a vibrant space for restorative justice practitioners to learn, grow, and share, while developing and delivering impactful direct service programs. We believe restorative justice is more than just resolving conflict—it's about transforming pain into healing and isolation into connection.
Founded in 2024 by facilitators and collaborators Dana Coles, Larell Smith-Bacon, and Liz Miyashiro, RJ Village was born from a shared vision: to create a community rooted in restorative principles and collaborative leadership. We empower communities with the tools they need to resolve conflict and nurture relationships. Our work has been mending relationships and cultivating a sense of belonging for over a decade.
Restorative justice is a powerful way to transform lives across homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. Our flagship programs, such as the Prince George’s Restorative Justice Program (PGRJ) and the Restorative Justice Statewide Network (RJSN), have been offering transformative experiences since 2010. We also proudly uplift Black girls in Baltimore through the arts, literature, and culture with A Revolutionary Summer, launched in 2015.
Thanks to funding from the Maryland Judiciary’s Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO), we’re expanding our reach. Our services primarily support county schools, the Department of Juvenile Services, and at-risk youth. Our goal: to provide everyone with tools for peaceful resolution.
In Fall 2024, we are excited to partner with Restorative Arlington as our fiscal sponsor, allowing us to receive tax-deductible donations while we pursue 501(c)(3) status. Join us in empowering individuals to resolve conflict with empathy and understanding. Together, we can shape a future where restoration is at the heart of every interaction.
